HIGHLIGHTS OF THE AFRICA FASHION WEEK NIGERIA 2016

The Africa Fashion Week Nigeria ended yesterday. It was a memorable event as designers unveiled some of their best collections showing that Africa is indeed talented. Almost 50 designers showcased their pieces for fashion lovers from all over Africa.

Yemi Alade aka mama Africa was the official ambassador of this year’s event. The reps for Africa Fashion Week 2016, Jide ‘JReason’ Adedeji andYetunde ‘Yetty D’ Ogunnubi spoke about the singer’s unique style as the major unique point for choosing her as face for the ‘Connecting Africa’ themed event for this year.

“Even from her nail polish to her hair and the way her dresses speak African, because Africa Fashion Week Nigeria more like tells a story so when Yemi Alade was mentioned it just clicked…” Jide Adedeji said. “She captures the whole essence of Africa, if you watch her videos and style and everything“Yetty Ogunnubi added.

The duo also revealed a lot of surprises set to be unveiled as the show wraps up later today noting that there are efforts put into making the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria platform even bigger this year.

The show which ended yesterday was a huge success. The showcased collections featured eye-popping colours and structured pieces. We definitely can’t wait to show you the pictures from the collections.
