CORPORATE YET FASHIONABLE ANKARA STYLES YOU CAN SLAY TO WORK THIS WEEK

Changing times has given people the courage to be who hey want to be as well as wanting their voices to be heard.

Everyone wants to preserve their identity and culture and everyone wants the world to see them for who they are and not some make shift version of another person or in this case another culture.

While we cannot deny that we have influenced each other one way or another, we have also learnt that this influence is on an unbalanced scale.

A persons dressing speaks a lot more volume than the words that comes out from the mouth.

Africans are to African print as Asians are to silk and that is the major reason I believe all sectors need to embrace this more.

Nigeria used to be a country where 3 piece skirt or pant suits, shirts and other “Western” fabric was the only approved form of corporate dress.

This is no longer the story as many business professional and business formal environment are seeing more of the Ankara prints.

They say little drops of water make a mighty oceans and the little drops in this environment which include accessories like, Ankara neck scarfs, Ankara hand bags etc are what we believe would lead to other wears like Ankara dresses and skirt.

Some other work environment have already began to embrace this look; like the business casual and the casual environments where Ankara fabric can be worn on a daily basis as opposed to the Friday native look employed by all the Nigerian industry.
