TREND ALERT: THE NAKED SHOE

TREND ALERT: THE NAKED SHOE

I am a 90’s baby and there are a few things I remember; one of them is those sparkly sandals which was made from clear plastic with soles like tire tracks called “the jelly sandals”. I loved them and they were perfect when it was raining and when it wasn’t. Since I was too young to note what the older people were wearing I was taken aback when I found out that the “Naked shoe” trend was actually remodeled from the 90’s.

You could say that, that era is the gift that keeps on giving as even after the noughties (2000-2009 period) we are still rocking revamped styles from then.

Fashion is a recycle; while the Classified & Mudd clear plastic heel ruled the 90’s, the yeezy season two brought forth a massive wave of inspiration in this millennial. The flood gates of creativity was open and now there are so many types, styles and designs of the naked shoe trend that its hard to pick from.

While the clear plastic jelly sandals is also back, we are focusing more on how modified the naked shoe has become, here;s an image of how it looked like in the nineties
