They are more stable and stretchy compared to fabrics made through basic weaves. It is a very special fabric because it has been in existence for a very long time, even at that it is still very much relevant nowadays. It has also been refined over time, from the time of the hand-woven prints to the punching cards guided weaving machine and then the machines controlled by computer for its production.

These materials can be quite confusing especially when you have both brocade and jacquard. Well, almost all modern brocades are woven with a jacquard device, so one could say that all modern brocades are jacquards, but not all jacquards are brocades, because jacquard looms are used to create other weaves, such as brocatelle, damask and tapestry. Confused? Don’t be. Today the name jacquard usually applies to all weaves that can be achieved with the machine, but it is sometimes used to describe one specific type of fabric woven using a Jacquard loom.

It is a lovely pattern that could be used to make different designs of skirt or outfit that will come out nice. It is a hard-to-come-by-worth-the-search material, you won’t regret trying it out.
