This week its still all about mens fashion. I really didn’t appreciate men spotting caftan as much as when I heard the speech from two up coming nigeria designers who’s aim is to make the caftan something nigerian men would be proud to wear to business meeting and to their work place. All of this came to me when I saw a recent documentary about living in dubai, In this doc series a woman introduced her husband to the world and he was in the famous thobe and what he said reminded me of what those two upcoming male designers are trying to achieve, he said “Hello Oprah this is the thobe its serves all pupose, I wear it for functions, business meetings and just about everywhere”.

Well just like the thobe is to the Arab male the caftan and agbada is to the nigerian male and really its something that we enjoy seeing our men in because they suddenly move from the boyish faze to a more respectable persona when they are in their caftans and agbada’s. Surprisingly they also behave respectable when they are in a caftan or agbada this tells you how important the caftan is to this society so why not embrace our culture in full? Well there are quite a number of respectable men that don’t even care for suit, that’s a start so ladies if you want your guys/husbands to look like a million bucks then you best invest in getting him good looking caftan and agbada style.
