WEDDING GUEST TURBAN STYLE INSPIRATION
I wouldn’t refer to searching for the right style/outfit for a wedding as a nightmarish situation, some people do but I have another opinion. To me searching for styles is a way to feed your eyes and discover new things, although it is frustrating most of the time but at the end of the day it might leave a smile of your face, especially when you receive compliments from strangers. This compliments gives you the relief that all your time and effort wasn’t wasted.
Ignoring how you look to a wedding is a “wedding guest guide NO NO…” All invitee’s must put in their best effort to look good, decent and respectable. You have to put in mind that the couples have put a lot into the ambiance and decorations and they would be so proud if their guest turn up in the best styles.
In nigeria, part of our wedding guest look is the headgear which we term the “Gele”. The gele has being part of our culture for a very long time especially in the west, it has also been in the northern parts but with a different name and style. The head wrap is an important factor however, there seems to be a different head wrap form that’s taking over. The turban style has been in and out of mainstream fashion but somehow its back and we are embracing it once again.
There’s something about the turban style that makes for an attractive finish and that’s the reason why many women find it pleasing. Turbans are sleek and smooth and they are easy to pull off, they don’t necessarily hurt your ears as much as the “Normal gele” and that’s an endearing quality.
Next time you have a wedding to attend, I believe you should take a cue from these turban style inspiration;
