TEHILAH ABAKASANGA PRESENTS THE “IGHO” COLLECTION NAMED AFTER HER MOTHER

Young and talented designer, Tehilah Abakasanga of ÖFUURË, a women’s wear brand, presents the IGHÓ collection.

She has this to say about the IGHÓ collection; “The IGHÓ collection was my winning AFWT (African fashion week Toronto) student design competition 2016 collection. IGHÓ means wealth in Edo, and this collection was named after my mum whose name is Omonigho”.

According to her, some of her favourite fabrics like tulle and fringe with different textures were incorporated into this hand sewn appliqués and some beadwork.
