If You Love Art, Prepare To Be Astonished By Guinea Bissau’s Sidney Cerqueira Who Uses Wood As His Canvas
Sidney Cerqueira grew up in Guinea Bissau, where he lived during his childhood and part of his youth. He moved to Portugal at the age of 20 to finish high school and has lived in Lisbon since 2000. He began his activities as a paint artist in 2004 and has since conquered the world with his works of art.
After experimenting with various techniques of painting, ranging from charcoal to oil on canvas, Sidney is now the only paint artist in Lusophone who does ‘Spontaneous Realism’ on wooden canvas, a style created by respected artist Voka. With only eleven years in the fine arts, Sidney has a solid and recognized career divided between Europe and West Africa.
