ARISE Fashion Week 2019 Day 3 — Okunoren
ARISE Fashion Week 2019 has officially come to an end after a 3-day event with top African and international designers showcasing their pieces for the Autumn/Winter 2019 season.
Taiwo and Kehinde Okunoren, are the design twin duo behind the fashion label, Okunoren. Founded in 2002, they’ve been lauded as the pioneers of bespoke suits, distinct for their perfect construction crafted from tweed, wool often times embellished with local African fabrics like aso-oke.
For AW19, the brand presented a vibrant collection tagged Divinity To Form. In a press release, Taiwo Okunoren revealed “The creation of the collection required a deep understanding of the divinity of the Yoruba people and expressed the vital role that women play in bringing this to life. The unique piece in its essence pays homage to the divine feminine.”
