9 AFRICAN HAIRSTYLES FOR BLACK WOMEN

What do we know about our history or the history of black african hairstyles? Did you know that looking at a persons hairstyles could tell you about their Identity? I bet you didn’t know that well now that you know you should also know that a particular hairstyle can tell you which family someone comes from, their background, their tribe, their role in a tribe etc.

Back then before slavery the hairstyles was a form of identification, some historians had said people believed certain hairstyles on certain days was a means to interacting with the gods, even men used to plait their hair and depending on what tribe they found themselves they could either be a king or a warrior. Hairstyles in Africa are synonymous to who we are, it defines our originality but over time the western hairstyle took over and almost buried our hairstyle but thankfully we are now awake and have realized that we cannot and should not stray from our heritage if not we would loose our identity.

There are so many african hairstyles that still survived the “Westernized Era” (the Era when black people around the world were compelled to use straightening products on their hair) and we’ve decided to share these hairstyles that are historically black (whether new or old) with you. These looks are neat and well plait and they would inspire you.

Now I know we are all about wigs and weaves but lets take a good look at these hair styles that am super excited to share, am sure you all would love what you see.
