#AFWN2016: Street Style By Iju Asonibe Of @Njcworks
Over the years, streetstyle has become a requisite when it comes to fashion weeks and at the recent Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN) which took place at the Eko Hotel & Suites over 3 days – Iju Asonibe of growing photography brand, New Jerusalem Creations (NJC) was on hand to capture some of the fashion moments on the street.
Iju Asonibe is a photographer, freelance writer, fashion enthusiast and creator of beautiful visual concepts.
The AFWN 2016 kicked off with its inaugural AFWN Textile & Garment Manufacturing Conference themed Making Nigeria the Fashion Production Hub of Africa took place on day 1 of the three day event. The street style looks from the conference were slightly more formal but we spotted head wraps, wide-leg pants and blazers.
For day 2, first day of the runway shows, guests upped the ante with more stylish and eclectic outfits – stripes, cutouts, prints, ankara pieces etc.
Iju, an aspirational photojournalist – her pictures must tell a story – has a flair for fashion and fine art photography but works on other aspects of photography too. The budding photographer loves to work with natural light and loves to play with elements in her surroundings.
Street Style is an area she’d like to explore intently besides her coverage of fine art and fashion photography.
