Fur Fashion Highlights From Milan Fashion Week 2017
Milan Fashion Week has come to an end. Boy did it fly by. This year’s show was filled with excitement and the amazing work of 68 different and each uniquely talented designers. There was so much great content to go through, with designers like Dolce & Gabbana exceeding one hundred different outfits and reaching the massive number of 129.
Just like every year, Milan Fashion Week 2017 featured some major trends. Bold suits were to be found everywhere often monochromatic or with a masculine shoulder. The midi length took over the whole runway with skirts, frocks, dresses and coats of that length, being present throughout the show and giving off a retro vibe that wasn’t always apparent. Hats were also a common sight on MFW and in various styles ranging from the beanies Donatella Versace chose to implement in her collection, to the Gucci oversized straw wide-brimmed hats and the fringed sun hats Emilio Pucci chose to complete his looks. Of course, the hat that will be most talked about is the knitted pink pussy hat Missoni models wore at the end.
Of course, being the fur lovers we are, we couldn’t help but notice how fur was present everywhere on the show. Fur coats, fur scarves, fur capes and fur elements in general, were part of almost every collection, upscaling them in the most beautiful wintery way. It seems like the trend of stripes from last year continued in this year’s MFW as well, which we have to say, was a very welcome surprise. Collections like Fendi, Agnona, Blumarine, Dolce & Gabbana and Emporio Armani included some of our favorite pieces and may we dare say, were even better than previous years. Worth mentioning was also the work of Simonetta Ravizza, whose collection was exclusively composed of fur outfits.
Overall it was an amazing show, filled with eye-catching and memorable fur outfits the best of which we gathered and made a highlights collection above.
