Ré (formerly Ré Bahia) Debuts A New Collection For S/S17 Titled Crazy Print Story
The brand once distinguished by minimalist cuts and colors decided to move away from familiar grounds to explore prints although there is still a sense of familiarity it retains for the modern girl – an infusion of simplicity and quirkiness, but still with a heavy dose of sophistication.
The designer, Orire Omatsola influenced by patterns and colours, in collaboration with Iyabo Adeyeye aka Mama Adire infused prints into the collection using the artisanal process of Batik wax and Khabaslot. The collection features wearable pieces in minimal cuts and simple forms which provides a lot of color and movement to the garments.
According to the designer, ” I was interested in the idea of exploring prints that have fascinated me through the years while staying true to colors and minimal cuts that the brand has been known for. I believe deeply that fashion is a channel through which art can assume a sense of expression.”
